A LIBRARY WITHOUT BORDERS

Stories travel. So do we.

Voxmelia is an independent library for people who love great stories, wherever they live and whichever language they call home.

Our story

Our first voyage begins with Jules Verne’s The Mysterious Island. We bring together reading texts, a narrated French edition, portraits and short biographies so you can enter its world in your own way.

A multilingual library, one chapter at a time.

The interface and character biographies are available in four languages. The French original and contemporary adaptation cover all 62 chapters. Chapter 1 can also be read in English and Spanish; Chinese drafts are available for chapters 1–3. These translations follow the contemporary French adaptation used for the audio, rather than the 1875 original. Listening is available in French through the published YouTube videos. Editions awaiting review are clearly labelled.

How these stories are made

The narrated editions use synthetic voices, with editorial adaptation, character direction, music and sound design. Character portraits and scenes are AI-created artistic interpretations. They are illustrations of fictional characters.
